Drum lessons in Helsinki and online

For children and adults, from beginner to advanced. A lesson runs 30 or 60 minutes — the shorter one suits the youngest and anyone just starting, the longer lesson leaves room for more. An eight-hour package takes 20 per cent off the price, and you can book several hours at once.

Common questions

Before the first lesson

Which lesson length should I choose?
For the youngest and for anyone just starting, half an hour is often just right: it is short enough to stay with from start to finish. A full hour leaves room to play more and work through things unhurried. If you are unsure, start with the shorter one — you choose the length again every time you book.
What should I bring to the first lesson?
Your own sticks, if you have a pair. Nothing else.
Is there a kit at the studio?
Yes, the kit is set up. You do not need to carry your own.
How young can someone start?
From four or five years old. The practical measure is the feet: once they reach the floor from a low drum stool, playing works.
What if I get ill?
Let me know as soon as you do, and the lesson moves to a new time at no charge.
What is needed for an online lesson?
Your own kit or a practice pad, a network connection, and a device with a camera and a microphone.
Can I study with you somewhere else too?
Yes. I also teach drums at the Vuosaari music institute, which suits anyone looking for a regular hobby: there you play through the autumn and spring terms, and the fee is a term fee rather than per lesson. Enrolment is open all year round, and I am happy to tell you more.
